Oregon Lottery $1 Million Thanksgiving Raffle Winning Number

Giving thanks for Thanksgiving. The winning number for the $1 Million Dollar Oregon Lottery was announced today, along with an additional 1010 cash prizes for the Thanksgiving Raffle. The Oregon Lottery official press release names the $1Million grand prize winning number. The $10 Thanksgiving Raffle ticket was a small price to pay for such a large jackpot.

Childhood obesity targeted by anti-junk food ads

Did you know the average child sees more than 40,000 advertisements a year; half of which are food ads, primarily sugared cereals, high calorie snacks, fast food advertisers, and soft drinks ads.

In Oregon, health officials are launching a public awareness ad campaign to help parents counter the “junk-food” commercials aimed at children.

Remains of Brooke Wilberger, Missing Since 2004, Uncovered

The remains of Brooke Wilberger, abducted from a parking lot on in Corvallis, OR on May 24, 2004, have finally been found. Joel Courtney had earlier been arrested in Wilberger's disappearance and Monday, he pleaded to aggravated murder in connection with the case.

Unless homeowners, authorities and mortgage lenders do something to stop foreclosures in Oregon the state's foreclosure filings will pass beyond the mark of every house out of 525 being up for foreclosures. Oregon has had one of the highest foreclosure filings in the country, rates jumping to 89.8 percent since May 2008.

The Coast Guard this morning rescued Oregon National Guardsmen who's training mission went awry. Six Oregon National Guard soldiers were rescued in the mouth of the Columbia river after their vessel capsized.

Man falls 500 feet off Mount Hood and Survives

54-year-old John Creager is lucky to be alive after falling 500 feet down Oregon's Mount Hood. On May 17 Creager, was only 200 feet from reaching the Mountain's summit when he lost his footing. Creager broke a vertebra in his neck and was knocked unconscious, he was rushed via helicopter to a nearby trauma center.
