A contestant on a Pakistan reality TV show drowned while performing a challenge during filming of the show. Saad Khan drowned on August 19 while filming was underway for the the Pakistan reality TV show's 10th episode. Contestant Khan's drowning was not made public until after his body was returned home to southern Pakistan in the city of Karachi.

A notorious Taliban leader has been killed by a U.S. airstrike. According to a senior Taliban commander, Baitullah Mehsud and his second wife were killed by a CIA missile strike that hit a farmhouse in South Waziristan in Pakistan.
