D. J. Hall's Paintings Come To Palm Springs Museum

Hall's paintings are inspired by the artist's visits to Palm Springs' pools and resorts and Los Angeles' posh Westside and beaches. Depictions of privileged, beautiful women grinning with self-satisfaction against the inevitable ravages of time became the basis of Hall's imagery. Employing a realist style of painting, the artist celebrates the color and quality of light in sunny environments. The paintings will be on view from 05.24.08 to 09.14.08.

Palm Springs Art Museum Acquires Helen Pashgian Sculpture

The Palm Springs Art Museum is pleased to announce the acquisition of a Helen Pashgian cast epoxy and mixed media wall sculpture. The piece UNTITLED (Copper), 2006 was purchased with funds provided by the Contemporary Art Council and chosen from a selection of three Pashgian pieces, voted upon at a recent acquisitions dinner. The piece will become part of the Art Museum's permanent collection.
