On Thursday, February 15, 2007 the Palm Springs Art Museum's LIVE OUT LOUD! Poetry Series will feature a performance by Los Angeles poet Florence Weinberger. The reading will take place at 6 p.m. in ZONE 101 at the Art Museum and coffee will be provided by Palm Springs Koffi. Admission is free.

On Saturday, March 24, 2007 the Museum Associates Council (MAC) of the Palm Springs Art Museum will present the Artists and Legends Gala. This year's highly anticipated event features special recognition for architect and designer Frank Gehry, artist and actor Dennis Hopper and artist Ed Ruscha.

The City of Indian Wells has made it possible for any member of the community to experience the Palm Springs Art Museum! Thanks to an Indian Wells contribution, the Museum will be completely free to all visitors during normal business hours on Thursday, January 25, 2007 from noon to 8 p.m.

The Artists Council's 38th Annual National Juried Exhibition will open on January 24, 2007 at the Palm Springs Art Museum. The creative pulse of the art scene across the United States will be represented by approximately sixty art works in this extraordinary and time-honored exhibition that gives Art Museum visitors a fresh look at current and diverse artistic talent on a national level.

On Tuesday, February 20, 2007 Metropolis Magazine's West Coast Editor Jade Chang will present her lecture The Edge of Design: LA's Experimental Institutions at the Palm Springs Art Museum's Annenberg Theater at 6 p.m. The lecture, hosted by the Art Museum's Architecture & Design Council, will be followed by a reception in the Marks Graphics Center. Tickets are $5 for ADC members and $10 for non-members.

The Palm Springs Art Museum's LIVE OUT LOUD Poetry Series will feature a performance by high desert poet Shawn Mafia. Mafia, known for reading his dark noir poetry accompanied by equally moody tunes, will read from a variety of current works. Some pieces will be enhanced by members of his band The Ten Cent Thrills. The reading will take place at 6 p.m. in ZONE 101 at the Art Museum and coffee will be provided by Palm Springs Koffi. Admission is free.

On January 31, 2007 Palm Springs Art Museum's Director of Education Robert Brasier will begin a special series on Pop art! Brasier will present a four-week examination of how Pop art came about, where it took root and why it remains a force even today.

On Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 5 p.m., the Palm Springs Art Museum will present artist Brian Biedul's demonstration The Figure in Space: New Explorations in Theoretical Architecture as part of the Museum's FREE community evening activities for the public.

On Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 8 p.m. Lorna Luft will delight Annenberg Theater audience members with Songs My Mother Taught Me; a highly personal and entertaining show of music inspired by her great mother Judy Garland's legendary songbook!

On Thursday, January 25, 2007, Arizona architect Wendell Burnette will present his lecture WORK as the annual E. Stewart Williams Memorial Lecture presented by the Palm Springs Art Museum's Architecture and Design Council, kicking off an exciting lecture series! The lecture will take place in the Annenberg Theater at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 for ADC members and $10 for nonmembers.
