Pennsylvania Ballet has been invited to perform at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as part of its Ballet Across America series, on JUNE 10-11, 2008. Nine companies will perform in 3 mixed repertory programs designed to showcase the ballet spirit of the United States.

Pennsylvania Ballet and Wachovia Wealth Management present Coppélia at the Merriam Theater at the University of the Arts April 18-27, 2008 First performed by the Company in 1978, and most recently revived in 2002, Coppélia remains one of Pennsylvania Ballet's most popular full-length works.

Pennsylvania Ballet presents Robert Weiss' Messiah, March 5 – 9, at the Academy of Music. With a score that lends itself to dance, Pennsylvania Ballet's former Artistic Director (1982-1990) Robert Weiss has created a visually enthralling epic that translates Handel's libretto to the stage. In more than 50 individual scenes, Messiah captures joy, suffering, passion, and the timeless tale of redemption.

Up to 20 outstanding career-entry level dancers, ages 14-21, will be invited to join Pennsylvania Ballet II for two weeks of full days including classes, workshops, rehearsals and seminars.

This year MANNA celebrates the sixteenth anniversary of Shut Up & Dance, a one-night-only benefit performance by dancers of Pennsylvania Ballet. The original works, choreographed and performed by the dancers in their uniquely spirited, funky and enthusiastic style, will return to The Forrest Theatre on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 8 p.m.

Magnificent new sets by Peter Horne, 192 exquisitely lavish new costumes designed by Judanna Lynn, Tschaikovsky’s endearing score, and Balanchine’s masterful choreography set the stage for the World Premiere production of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, presented by PNC, December 14 through December 31, 2007 at the Academy of Music.

A tribute to a bygone era, Pennsylvania Ballet presents Paul Taylor's rollicking Company B, October 10-14, 2007 at the Merriam Theater at the University of the Arts. The familiar and upbeat tunes from The Andrews Sisters, and the choreographic allusions to the jitterbug and other dances offer a stark contrast to the sense of loss and loneliness of the 1940s.

Just in time for Halloween, Pennsylvania Ballet dances on the dark side with Ben Stevenson's Dracula, October 26 through November 3, 2007 at The Academy of Music. Featuring flying vampires and dazzling pyrotechnics, Dracula is a broadway-esque production that audiences can really sink their teeth into!

Pennsylvania Ballet is also offering two unique tour packages that are described below.

Pennsylvania Ballet, under the artistic direction of Roy Kaiser, will present mixed repertory evenings of its work November 14-18 at City Center (West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue) in New York as part of its 44th Season. This is Pennsylvania Ballet’s first time headlining in New York since 1985 when they performed at The Brooklyn Academy of Music.
