Buffalo Philharmonic's Performers Featured In Don Quixote

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of JoAnn Falletta, presents a program that features BPO principal cellist Roman Mekinulov performing Richard Strauss' Don Quixote. Also featured in this work is BPO principal violist Valerie Heywood. Maestro Falletta will provide a commentary to Strauss' Don Quixote before the performance of this work.

Boston Ballet School Students Perform In Moscow

Boston Ballet II, the pre-professional company of Boston Ballet, and students from Boston Ballet School's Trainee program will dance excerpts from Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen's production of The Nutcracker in Moscow as part of a special celebration organized by the government marking Russian Orthodox Christmas. In addition to performing, the young dancers will participate in master classes at the Bolshoi Ballet School, and observe rehearsals.

High Desert Poet Shawn Mafia To Perform At Palm Springs Art Museum

The Palm Springs Art Museum's LIVE OUT LOUD Poetry Series will feature a performance by high desert poet Shawn Mafia. Mafia, known for reading his dark noir poetry accompanied by equally moody tunes, will read from a variety of current works. Some pieces will be enhanced by members of his band The Ten Cent Thrills. The reading will take place at 6 p.m. in ZONE 101 at the Art Museum and coffee will be provided by Palm Springs Koffi. Admission is free.
