Philadelphia Museum Parking Fees Extending To Include Weekdays

Beginning Thursday, March 1, 2007, the Museum's parking charge, currently $5 on the Terrace on weekends, will be in effect seven days a week for general visitors. A $4 parking charge will apply to Museum members beginning April 1, 2007. The $5 parking fee has previously applied on weekends only.

First U.S. Exhibition Devoted to Japanese Nanga Masters

The Philadelphia Museum of Art will present an exhibition of works by the 18h century Japanese master of ink painting Ike Taiga (1723-1776) and his wife Tokuyama Gyokuran (1727-1784). The first exhibition in the United States to focus on Taiga, it will bring together key works from Japanese and Western collections and provide an in-depth look at the major Japanese artist of the 18th century.

Wind Challenge Closes 29th Season Of Juried Exhibitions

The Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial presents the final exhibition in the twenty-ninth season of the four-part Wind Challenge Series at Fleisher - the Delaware Valley's premier juried artist exhibition program. This season's twelve Challenge artists were selected from a field of nearly 330 applicants to exhibit in one of four three-person exhibitions. The last of this season's Challenge exhibitions features the work of artists Susan Abrams, Elaine Erne, and Nami Yamamoto.

Tibetan-Buddhist Culture Presented At Philadelphia Museum

In Tibetan-Buddhist practice, worship takes place not only in magnificent temples, but also in the homes of lay practitioners-many of which include a sacred space reserved for daily rituals. Philadelphia Museum Presents "Gross Clinic"

Thomas Eakins' 1875 masterpiece, The Gross Clinic, goes on public view at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and in early March will hang at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. It is on loan to the Museum from Thomas Jefferson University until it is sold later this month by the University to the Museum and the Academy, which have joined in an extraordinary ongoing fundraising effort.
