Exploring Iran At Penn Museum

Exploring Iran: The Photography of Erich F. Schmidt, 1930-1940, a new exhibition of more than 50 archival photographs from Iran, complemented by a representative sampling of ancient artifacts, including painted pottery, alabaster and copper/bronze figurines from the archaeological excavations at the Bronze Age site Tepe Hissar, opens at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology October 2 through December 9, 2007.

Smithsonian Photographs Travel To Frederick Douglass Museum

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History is proud to announce a special collaboration between the Museum's Archives Center and the Frederick Douglass Museum and Cultural Center in Highland Beach, Md., for a display of its Scurlock Studio photographs. The photographs will be featured in the exhibition "Scurlock-Beach Connections," which will open Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2008. The display highlights digital prints made from original negatives in the Scurlock Studio Records.
