31st Humana Festival Poster Art Is Released

Actors Theatre of Louisville has commissioned graphic designer and illustrator Michael Glenwood of Washington D.C. to create this year's official poster art commemorating the 31st Humana Festival of New American Plays (February 25 - April 7). It will appear on the cover of festival playbills and will be issued as a 22 by 34 inches limited-edition four-color art poster.

Memorial Art Gallery Exhibit Showcases World War I Posters

World War I was the first war in which the US government used posters as a cheap and effective means of mass communication. Playing on cultural roles of gender and family and utilizing the power of symbols and personification, US wartime posters addressed such needs as recruitment, government bond and loan campaigns, labor, food conservation, and Red Cross fund drives.
