(London, UK) Saturday 4th October sees the UK's biggest ever event to End Child Poverty. According to organisers The Campaign to End Child Poverty, thousands are expected at the march from Millbank to Trafalgar Square. Parents, carers and children with autism and Asperger's Syndrome will also be joining this march. A UK based charity, the UK Autism Foundation has appealed for urgent help for families with autism who are below the poverty line.

(London, UK) A 16 year old British teenager,James Wilson who has autism, has been found by police having walked from Epping via Chelmsford to Colchester in Essex, after a massive hospital blunder. Mrs Lash Wilson, mother of James has called on the Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Secretary of State for Health Alan Johnson to launch an inquiry as how a vulnerable teenager with autism was allowed out of Goodmayes Hospital in Essex to go to the cornershop unsupervised.

He also called on the Government to set up state of the art specialist autism schools or academies - according to estimates there over 90,000 children in the UK who are on the autism spectrum. Autism is a neuro-developmental disorder -over 500,000 people in the UK are on the autism spectrum. According to researchers 1 in 100 children may have autism. Over 90,000 children in the UK are autistic - many suffer without proper access to public services in education, health, specialist speech therapy and respite care.
