Leading members of Canada's business and political circles stepped out in style tonight at the Canadian War Museum for a memorable fundraising ball celebrating the '20s, '30s and '40s. The 2007 History Costume Ball: The Age of Style conjured an era of glitz and glamour with vintage music, elegant dancing, fine food and a sparkling crowd of 450 supporters, many of them decked out as gangsters and molls, matinee idols, flappers and flyboys.

The Canadian Museum of Civilization will honour one of Canada's most influential living artists next year with a major retrospective. Daphne Odjig: Four Decades of Prints, on view from January 18 to April 20, 2008, will be a rare chance to see how this Aboriginal artist's uniquely expressive work has evolved since the 1960s.

The most comprehensive exhibition ever presented on Glenn Gould opens at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau-Ottawa. Glenn Gould: The Sounds of Genius was developed by the Museum in partnership with Library and Archives Canada to mark this year's 75th anniversary of Gould's birth and the 25th anniversary of his death in 1982.

The Canadian War Museum's current special exhibition, Afghanistan: A Glimpse of War, has attracted more than 125,000 visitors since its February opening, making it one of the most popular special exhibitions since the new Museum opened in May 2005. The exhibition has been extended until April 27, 2008.

Kids Celebrate! is a new exhibition at the Canadian Children's Museum open until January 6, 2008. This activity-filled exhibition is all about celebrations and how kids and their families observe special festivities in various world cultures and religions.

To mark the tenth anniversary of the Daniel Langlois Foundation for Art, Science, and Technology (DLF), the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts presents, through December 9, 2007, works by ten artists from Canada and abroad who have received funding from the DLF.

For its tenth edition, Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal highlights narrative experimentation with the image, under the general title Replaying Narrative, where contemporary video and photography go hand in hand, incorporating narration in a variety of ways such as the appropriation of an image from a well-known film or story.

Marika has accepted an invitation to perform as a special guest, at the opening ceremonies of the exhibition Glenn Gould:The Sounds of Genius on September 27, 2007 at 6 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau. During her performance, Marika will play selected Bach and Chopin pieces.
