Virginia Tech, along with TORC Technologies, won the $500,000 third place prize last weekend at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Urban Challenge. In a close race with teams from Carnegie Mellon and Stanford universities, the Virginia Tech team used National Instruments LabVIEW software and CompactRIO hardware in its vehicle.

The Carnegie Mellon University Tartan Racing Team, with it's GM Chevrolet Tahoe "Boss" entry, claimed first prize today in the DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) Urban Challenge. The Urban Challenge is a competition between vehicles that drive themselves in a mock urban environment.

The Honda Racing F1 Team won two prestigious awards at the 2007 Green Awards which were held at the London Guildhall on Friday 26 October.

Alain Menu, Nicola Larini and Robert Huff, the Chevrolet WTCC team racing drivers, have each purchased a Corvette Z06 for their personal use. At the weekends they win races in their light blue Chevrolet Lacetti race car in FIA’s World Touring Car Championship and during the week drive around in their yellow Corvette Z06.

The season finale at Interlagos ended in disappointment for the Honda Racing F1 Team. Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello drove determined races before they were both forced to retire with engine failure.

Rubens Barrichello, meanwhile, endured a tough race to finish in 15th position.
