For the second time in little more than a month, an effigy of Barack Obama has been found at a college campus. The first incident took place at George Fox University in Oregon, ironically a Christian campus. George Fox was the founder of the Quakers.

Barack Obama canceled most of his Thursday and Friday appointments as he prepared to fly to Hawaii to visit his gravely ill grandmother. At the same time the reaction from some can only be described as hateful, disgusting and unfeeling (and that's being nice).

Ever hear of the "Bradley Effect?" Named after Tom Bradley, who lost a California gubernatorial race that polls said he should have won, it refers to an alleged tendency on the part of some voters to tell pollsters that they are undecided or likely to vote for a black candidate, and yet, on election day, vote for his/her white opponent.

Apparently, the local GOP affiliates haven't gotten the message: negative ads turn off voters. Racist propaganda sure isn't going to do any better.

The Norwegian newspaper VG has reported a truly amazing story about a newly-wed trying to get to Norway to be with her husband, and the stranger who helped pay an unexpected luggage surcharge.

White people – including children as young as 10 -- may avoid talking about race so as not to appear prejudiced, according to new research. But that approach often backfires as blacks tend to view this "colorblind" approach as evidence of prejudice, especially when race is clearly relevant.

Here is something interesting on Sarah Palin and racism and, I have to admit, somewhat unexpected even from the new equal-time-for-Democrats media. In an analysis piece, the AP writes:

It’s time to haul racism, in all its seething ugliness and simmering menace, out into the open. It’s time to deal with it; lance it, clean it up and disinfect the reeking mess and then dress the wound and leave it to heal. If the racism once more threatening to disrupt the presidential campaign is not addressed, its poison will no longer merely seep through the body politic but swamp it, delivering a death blow to any hopes of a just end to this campaign.

Racist "Obama Waffles" on display at the 2008 Values Voters Summit, and it now appears that a Christian university has joined the racism crowd, with regards to the presidential election.

Family Values: a core --- at least advertised as such --- component of the GOP platform, now apparently includes racism. An exhibitor at the 2008 Value Voters Summit - sponsored by the Family Research Council has been selling seemingly racist anti-Obama waffles.

Watching the news should make you more informed, but it also may be making you more likely to stereotype, says a University of Illinois researcher.

Obama's Pastor says "In comparing African-American children and European-American children, we were comparing apples and rocks."
