Part of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam's Asiatic art collection will meet the collection of modern sculptures from the Beelden aan Zee sculpture museum in Scheveningen. Sixty Asian sculptures, most of which are Hindu and Buddhist gods and goddesses from Indonesia, India, Pakistan and China, will enter into dialogue with work by twenty-five 20th century sculptors at the Rijksmuseum aan Zee.

The Palm Springs Art Museum announced today the winners of its 2008 Artists Council Juried Exhibition. The exhibition will run until March 9, 2008 and expresses the creative pulse of the local art scene through more than 50 innovative works of art. The top winners of the exhibition include:

Characteristic Dutch landscapes with looming cloud-filled skies are featured in the new exhibition at Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Schiphol, opened on 16 January 2008. In all, the show presents eighteen superb watercolours by artists of the Hague School, including work by leading masters such as Weissenbruch, Mesdag and Maris.

The Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum are jointly organising an exhibition, entitled Illustrated Japanese Books from the 17th to the 20th century to be held in the Van Gogh Museum from 12 October.

This autumn, the masterpiece The Leaping Horse by renowned English landscape painter John Constable will be on view in the Rijksmuseum. This impressive painting from 1825 is one of the masterpieces of the collection of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In the Rijksmuseum, Constable's painting will be juxtaposed with masterpieces from the 17th-century landscape painters Ruisdael, Hobbema and Koninck.

The Amsterdam Rijksmuseum and the Nieuwe Kerk church will be jointly presenting the exhibition 'HERO' from 11 August 2007 through to 11 November 2007 in the Nieuwe Kerk church in Amsterdam. The occasion for the HERO exhibition is the commemoration of the 400th birthday of one of the greatest heroes in Dutch history: Michiel de Ruyter.

For the first time, a selection of masterpieces from the ING Collection can be seen together with works from the Rijksmuseum collection at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The exhibition, Dutch Realism, includes eight paintings from the ING Collection by magical realists Carel Willink, Dick Ket, Wim Schuhmacher, Raoul Hynckes and Edgar Fernhout, amongst others.
