Ronaldinho is trying to recover from injury of his right ankle before World Cup qualifier against Peru.

Brazil soccer Ronaldinho said his current difficulties will not force him out of FC Barcelona. The Brazil forward, who is under contract until 2010, has endured a lackluster start to the season amid reports that he broke Barcelona's code of conduct by going out two days before a match.

Ronaldinho and Kaka are going to play for Brazil's national team in a friendly match against Algeria at the end of the month in France. Coach Dunga summoned them and 20 others for the match on Aug. 22 in Montpellier.

Barcelona are considering an appeal against a one-match ban handed out to Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho for kicking an opponent, the club said overnight.

FC Barcelona midfielder Ronaldinho will not play at this year's Copa America. Barcelona said on its Web site that Ronaldinho sent a letter to Brazil's soccer confederation informing coach Dunga that the he would not be available for the tournament in Venezuela.

Spanish international playmaker Andres Iniesta and Samuel Eto'o, last season's top scorer in the Spanish first division, got second half goals to edge the Catalan club closer to their third successive La Liga crown.

FC Barcelona has denied a report that Ronaldinho has mononucleosis. Barcelona said the Brazil forward has been on a course of antibiotics after a recent bout of tonsillitis, but is now on a personal training program to help him recover.
