Gavin Henson ruled out of rugby World Cup

Wales center Gavin Henson was ruled out of rugby World Cup on Tuesday after failing to make the team for the weekend's warmup match against England. Henson had been struggling with an Achilles injury and coach Gareth Jenkins decided to rule him out of the Sept. 7-Oct. 20 tournament after omitting him for Saturday's game at Twickenham.

Brisbane to host final of rugby league World Cup

Brisbane will host the rugby league World Cup final and one of the semifinals next year, government officials announced Thursday. The cup final will be played Nov. 22, 2008, and Suncorp Stadium will also host a semifinal on Nov. 15, Queensland state premier Peter Beattie said.
