On November 13th, 2008 the futures contracts on Urals oil (UR-11.08) and Brent oil (BR-11.08) expired.

On November 13th, 2008 the number of trades on FORTS broke though 200,000 in one day for the first time. The new record high was 201 390 trades in futures and options. The previous record was set on September 10th, 2008 with the total number of futures and options trades reaching 172 300.

Over the week of November 5th – November 7th, 2008, the RTS Index went down by 5,21% to reach 760,62 points (802,39 points as of November 1st, 2008). Most of the negative impact on the Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (minus 11,11 points), OJSC "OC "Rosneft" ordinary shares (ROSN) (minus 10,88 points) and ОАО "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) (minus 6,66 points).

By the closure of the main trading session on November 12th, 2008 the number of trades in futures contracts reached 167,747. The previous record was registered on October 30th, 2008 with the market participants concluding 165,175 trades.

RTS now provides CCP trading in Sberbank ordinary shares on the non-anonymous market based on:

* Non-anonymous indirect orders with settlement on T+4;
* Direct orders with settlement on Т+1, Т+2, Т+3, Т+4.

In October 2008 the RTS Index slipped down by 36,18% to 773,37 points as of October 31st, 2008 against 1 211,84 points as of September 30th, 2008.

For the period of October 01st–31st, 2008 the total trading volume in the RTS Board system equaled $5,7 mln. Most popular stocks were Silvinit privileged shares (silvp), ordinary shares of JSC "Holding MRSK" (mrkh) and ordinary shares of Kuzbassrazrezugol Coal Company (kzru).

First Internet Trading system providing for FIX connectivity to the trading system was certified on FORTS. The system was developed by CQG, a recognized software development company specializing in the field of trading and analytics solutions.

Over the week of October 27th – November 1st, 2008, the RTS Index went up by 46,04% to reach 802,39 points (549,43 points as of October 24th, 2008). Most of the positive impact on the Index dynamics was related to the rising prices for Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (plus 56,58 points), ОАО "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) (plus 51,97 points) and Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (plus 36,53 points).

The above-mentioned shares the related indices will be calculated based on the Belon shares' closing price, 2008 multiplied by a special adjusting coefficient allowing to take into account the market movement. The adjusting coefficient is calculated according the formula described in Articles 12.1 and 11.1 of the Methodologies for calculation of the RTS-2 Index and RTSI-Metals & Mining respectively.

Over the week of October 20th – 24th, 2008, the RTS Index went down by 17,70% to reach 549,43 points (667,62 points as of October 17th, 2008). Most of the negative impact on the Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (minus 33,47 points), Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (minus 20,21 points) and ОАО "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) (minus 17,99 points).
