A senior Russian environmental official, Oleg Mitvol, has claimed that a $50 million bribe was allegedly offered to him by the oil giant Royal Dutch Shell in respect of the multi-billion dollar Sakhalin-2 project in Russia.

British-Dutch oil major Shell plans to increase investments in Russia despite losing control of the giant Sakhalin-2 project earlier this year, the company's CEO said on June 8th.

ExxonMobil announced on Wednesday, April 25, that its subsidiary Exxon Neftegaz Limited has completed drilling of the Z-11 well, the longest measured extended-reach drilling well in the world. It is located on Sakhalin Island at Russia's Far East and is part of Exxon-led Sakhalin-1 oil and gas project. The record-setting well has a total measured depth of 37,016 feet (11,282 meters) or over seven miles, Exxon said in its official press release.

Gazprom is on the brink of sealing a takeover of the huge Sakhalin2 oil and gas project, the biggest of its kind in the world. The seizure has been engineered by the Putin regime which controls the ravenous Russian energy giant.
