Just in time for the fall elections, the Tony Award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe skewers a system which puts the actual needs of the voters last with a new musical comedy, RED STATE.

Fifteen young actors from across the Bay Area join musicians from San Francisco's Bird School of Music for the world premiere of the A.C.T. Young Conservatory's I'm Still Standing: A Celebration of the Music of Elton John, created and directed by A.C.T. Young Conservatory (YC) director Craig Slaight. This dynamic musical tribute features hit songs popularized by the famed Grammy, Academy, and Tony Award winner and plays at Zeum Theater, located at Yerba Buena Gardens (Fourth and Howard streets), through June 21.

The San Francisco Bay Area's BART system (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is in talks with WiFi Rail, Inc., to provide system-wide wi-fi service after a successful trial program. Phase three of the demonstration program recently completed, and in a small blurb on WiFi Rail's home page, the company said:

The de Young Museum hosts Dale Chihuly’s first major exhibition in San Francisco, June 14 through September 28, 2008. Chihuly at the de Young includes eleven galleries of new and archival works representing the breadth and scope of the artist’s creative vision over the last four decades. The de Young Museum is the only venue for this exhibition. "I'm very excited about my upcoming show at the de Young. It will be the most ambitious show I've created to date," says Chihuly.

Catering to youth from underserved communities, XTech keeps its middle and high school students on track and thinking about the future. This program is designed to help inspire some of these students to become part of the next generation of scientists, engineers, and others who work to shape the world we live in.
