Future technology designed to cut the carbon cost of air travel will be displayed to the public for the first time in a new exhibition, Does Flying Cost the Earth?, opening at the Science Museum. Exhibition developers will unveil cutting-edge models of the aeroplanes of tomorrow, the lightest new materials and advanced engine technologies in an exhibition which takes an investigative look at the impact of aviation on climate change.

The game, developed to accompany the museum's recently reinvented interactive gallery Launchpad, has won both 'Best Innovative Site' and overall 'Best of the Web' at Museums and the Web 2008 – the international conference for museums and heritage online in Montreal, Canada. Launchball had already been named 'Best Game' and 'Best in Show' at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas.
