Scientology's latest public relations stunt has drawn criticism, as former members speak out about the organization's destructive policies. Multiple reports indicate that children are being exploited, denied a proper education, and separated from their families by Scientology organizations.

Members of the Church of Scientology of Sydney came out in force at Hunter's Hill's Moocooboola Festival last Sunday to support Missing Persons Week—a public information campaign of the Australia Federal Police (AFP) to counter this social problem that tears families apart and often ends in tragedy. Out of an estimated 35,000 people who are reported missing each year in Australia, approximately 20,000 are under the age of 18.

Gawker.com--the feisty website whose posting of a Tom Cruise video in January led to the unleashing of Anonyomous, the internet based anti-Scientology collective known for its zany global protests and effective activism--is at it again.

It came as surprise to many Malibu residents to see several masked protesters waving flags and placards along Pacific Coast Highway, the main artery in this famously wealthy seaside community last week. This year's Africa Day celebration in Copenhagen marked the inauguration of the "Right to Play Cup," a human rights soccer championship co-organized by the Danish African Soccer Academy (DASAC) and Youth for Human Rights Denmark". The human rights activist group ANONYMOUS celebrated lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) people's rights by marching in San Diego's Pride Parade on July 19. Anonymous is in the process of systematically dismantling the Scientology cult, which, among other crimes and offenses, considers non-heterosexuals to be "perverts" who are "extremely dangerous to society."

On Saturday July 19, members of the internationally renown anti-Scientology activism group Anonymous marched in the San Diego Pride Parade as their own contingent, while another Anonymous rode in the motorcycle group Dykes on Bikes. Anonymous appeared in front of over 180,000 celebrants to show their support for the LGBT community–and to alert them to Scientology’s bigoted and biased attitudes towards the lesbian, gay, bi- and transgendered population.
