Intiman Theatre Announces Recipients Of Ruben Van Kempen Award

Intiman Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Bartlett Sher and Managing Director Laura Penn , announces Thomas J. Armitage, Director of Theatre at North Central High School in Spokane, as the second recipient of its biennial Ruben Van Kempen Arts Educator Award. The award will be presented at Intiman's Annual Meeting on Monday, March 17 at 5:30 pm.

Intiman Theatre Presents 'The Diary Of Anne Frank'

Intiman Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Bartlett Sher and Managing Director Laura Penn , opens its 2008 season with the Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Diary of Anne Frank, dramatized by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, directed by Sari Ketter. Performances will begin at the Intiman Playhouse, on Friday, March 21 and continue through Saturday, May 17.

Manuel Barrueco Brings Music Of Bach, Piazzolla, Turina, Albéniz To Benaroya Hall

2008 Grammy Award–nominated guitarist Manuel Barrueco will perform a solo recital of guitar masterpieces on Wednesday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. The program will include a transcription of Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata in G minor by Barrueco himself, and selections from tango-master Astor Piazzolla's Tango Etudes, Joaquín Turina's Fandanguillo and Sevillana (Fantasia), and Isaac Albéniz's Suite Española. This performance marks the second of three Guitar Recital series concerts in the 2007–2008 season.

Style in the Aisle is a window into the world of commercial flight attendants—their stories, their roles in aviation and especially: their uniforms. Style in the Aisle draws upon the Museum's extensive collection of airline flight attendant uniforms, airline artifacts, photos and resources donated exclusively for the exhibit.

Gerard Schwarz Leads Seattle Orchestra In Beethoven's Fourth Symphony

Seattle Symphony’s Mainly Mozart series continues with a program featuring Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 in D major, C.P.E. Bach’s Flute Concerto in D minor and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major.
