The two original founders of Skype, a peer-to-peer calling service, want $75 million a day in damages from eBay. Earlier this month most of Skype was sold to new investors but Skype founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom have filed a lawsuit against eBay and the new investors. Friis and Zennstrom, Skype founders,decided to sue eBay for copyright violation and the disruption of a $1.9 billion deal.

Earlies this morning we wrote that eBay may announce a Skype sale deal as early as today. Well, the news came this morning that eBay announced the deal.

eBay, which had acquired Skype relatively recently, finds it necessary to sell it, and probably best for both eBay and Skype. The sale, according to NY Times and Bloomberg, may happen as early as today.

Skype 2.8 Beta for Mac OS X provides screen sharing, WiFi access, chat features and Twitter-like mood messages.

Although some IM and P2P applications can generate real value for businesses, IT security experts recommend centralized monitoring and administration of user access. Undesired applications should be blocked while applications that are truly advantageous for business should be freely accessible.

On Monday Skype, announced new subscription plans that allow flat-rate unlimited calling to 34 countries. It should be noted that for Skype defines unlimited as 10,000 minutes / month; after that standard fees apply.

Skype, the provider of a very large internet telephony services, said that it's users were having issues due to outage to log in to Skype and using the service. Skype outage had cause millions of users not being able to log in, which has been due to a software issue.

Skype(TM) is now available on the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet, bringing Skype conversations anywhere in the world where there is an available wireless internet connection (WiFi).
