There are rumors going on all over the internet media and reported in Inquirer that the German giant mobile phone operator T-Mobile may be interested to buy Sprint Nextel.

Sprint Nextel and Samsung on Monday showed a new smartphone that operates on both Sprint’s network in the U.S. and on competitors’ networks when overseas.

The Sprint Nextel Board of Directors has named wireless industry veteran Daniel R. Hesse, 54, as president and chief executive officer of the company, effective immediately. He previously was chairman, president and CEO of Embarq Corporation.

As part of the strategic alliance between Sprint (NYSE: S) and Microsoft Corp., today the two companies are providing Sprint customers with the industry’s first fully integrated GPS location-aware mobile search service in the U.S. with entire Internet search on Sprint phones.
