If approved, the NC appliance rebate could save shoppers money on energy-saving appliances next April. From April 22nd through the 25th, the State of North Carolina is planning on offering rebates on certain appliances.

NPR reports that in spite of growing concerns the U.S. states are not using the Federal stimulus money to protect the schools from budget cuts. Many schools have been forced to cut their budgets bowing to the difficult economic times in the states.

The government's new Cash for Clunkers program has drawn much interest, and not just from buyers. According to Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, about 80% of new-car dealers have signed up for the program.
