HP to Withdraw Nasdaq Stock Market Listing, Retain New York Stock Exchange

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. mourns the passing of its founder and past President Gordon S. Macklin. Mr. Macklin founded NASDAQ in 1971 and served at NASDAQ and the NASD for close to two decades. He served as the President of the NASD from 1970-1987 and served as President of NASDAQ from 1975-1987.

Logitech International SA (NASDAQ:LOGI) of Switzerland, will become a component of the NASDAQ-100 Index (NASDAQ: NDX) and the NASDAQ-100 Equal Weighted Index (NASDAQ: NDXE) prior to market open on February 1, 2007. Logitech International SA will replace Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT). Logitech International SA will also be included in the NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking StockSM (NASDAQ:QQQQ).

E*TRADE FINANCIAL (NASDAQ: ETFC) has become a component of the NASDAQ Financial-100 Index (NASDAQ: IXFIN), effective prior to market open on January 30, 2007. E*TRADE FINANCIAL replaced Charter Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: CHFN). NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX) today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 5% equity position in the Mumbai-based National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), the maximum investment permitted by a foreign investor in a stock exchange under the securities laws of India.

The New York Stock Exchange and NYSE Arca, subsidiaries of NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX), will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 in observance of the national day of mourning for President Gerald R. Ford.

Dell Inc. announced that the company received, a NASDAQ Staff Determination letter on December 15, 2006, saying the company is not in compliance with the NASDAQ continued listing requirements set forth in Marketplace Rule 4310(c) (14). The Determination letter relates to the company's Form 10-Q for the fiscal third quarter ended November 3, 2006.
