The Iraqi government cordoned off the building and seized the west Baghdad headquarters of a powerful Sunni Muslim group. They accuse the group of supporting al-Qaida.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has refused to accept the resignations of six Sunni Arab cabinet ministers who quit last week. Mr. Maliki announced the decision after he met Sunday with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Shi'ite Vice President Adil Abdul-Mahdi. Iraq's Sunni vice president did not take part.

Iraq's largest Sunni Arab political bloc, the Iraqi Accordance Front, has announced it is quitting the Iraqi cabinet, accusing the Shi'a-led government of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki of failure to address a list of its concerns.
