Suzuki Motor Corp said it plans to raise the annual production at Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile Co to 500,000 vehicles within the next three years, Chinese newspaper Nandang Daily reported today.

Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki Automobile Co Ltd has decided to recall 23,400 Suzuki Liana sedans starting October 30 to fix the defects of their lamps, said xinhuanet.com today. These cars were made by the joint venture between November 21, 2005 and August 31, 2008.

Changan Suzuki has confirmed that it stopped production of the existing Alto model in July to reverse the slide in its small car sales, said Yangtze Daily today. The all-new Suzuki Alto is expected to be made by this joint venture in September 2009.
