Milwaukee Musician Acquires Legendary Violin

The famous Lipinski Stradivarius, out of the public eye for almost 20 years, was recently uncovered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and will now be played by Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Frank Almond. This violin is one of less than 700 surviving instruments made by Antonio Stradivari (1644-1737). Stradivari's instruments are highly prized due to their craftsmanship, historic significance, and acoustic power and clarity.

EFT - Royal Scottish Orchestra’s Temporary Home

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra will perform at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre in the 2008-9 Season, returning to its Edinburgh home, the Usher Hall, in May 2009. After considering the report from the building contractors responsible for phase II of the renovations, the City of Edinburgh Council and RSNO have decided to delay the Orchestra’s return to the Edinburgh venue so that work can be carried out uninterrupted.
