Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Presents Concert For Young Professionals

The Dead Composers Society (DCS) invites young professionals (ages 21-39) to enjoy dinner, classical music and meeting new people on Saturday, September 20, 2008. We will meet at 6:00 pm for a fun activity and food (location TBA), followed by the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra performance, Roots, at 8 pm in the Michigan Theater. This concert features pianist Louis Nagel, reader Thomas Blaske, and composer Paul Fetler.

Mime Troop And Student Groups To "Dance, Sing, Play"

Connecticut families will "Dance, Sing, and Play" at the 2008-2009 Hartford Symphony Family Matinee Series, featuring special guests Magic Circle Mime Company, as well as student soloists and ensembles. Marc Kaplan of West Hartford will guest conduct this three concert series, designed to give children and families a fun, interactive classical music experience.

Ann Arbor Orchestra Presents 'Afternoon Delights'

On September 17th at 2:00 pm at the Jewish Community Center (2935 Birch Hollow Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48108, 734-971-0990), the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra (A2SO) will host a performance of music for the Harp, featuring Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra's Principal Harpist Amy Ley. Dessert is served at 1:30 pm followed at 2:00 pm by the one-hour concert. Single tickets are available at the door for $8. A season of five Afternoon Delights concerts is $35.

Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Opens 80th Season

The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra opens their 2008-2009 season with "Roots" on Saturday, September 20th in the Michigan Theater at 8 pm. The Orchestra is celebrating its 80th Season with a series of six celebratory concerts between September and April. This is the final concert that will record the music of Paul Fetler for the A2SO's first commercial CD, on the Naxos label.

Ehnes, Memphis Orchestra Takes On Elgar
