On the eve of the artist's 80th birthday Tate has announced that it will bring together, for the first time, two of Cy Twombly's great painting series from the 1990s as part of a major exhibition of his work at Tate Modern which opens on 19 June 2008. Comprising two sets of four enormous canvases, Tate will unite The Four Seasons 1994-5 from the Tate Collection and The Four Seasons 1993-4 from The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

In the first commission to use the iconic river façade of Tate Modern, the gallery will present the work of six internationally acclaimed artists, whose work is intricately linked to the urban environment. Street Art at Tate Modern, sponsored by Nissan QASHQAI, opens on 23 May and is the first major public museum display of Street Art in London.

The Design Museum, in partnership with Tate Modern, brings a house designed by architectural visionary Jean Prouvé to Britain for the first time thanks to New York hotelier André Balazs, from Tuesday, 5 February to Sunday, 13 April 2008.

The National Gallery and Tate jointly announced today one of the most significant bequests of paintings ever to the nation. The collector, Simon Sainsbury (1930-2006), has generously bequeathed 18 paintings from his outstanding international and British art collection to the National Gallery and Tate.

The World as a Stage explores the rich historical relationship between visual art and theatre. The exhibition brings together a key group of sixteen international, contemporary artists and comprises a selection of large installations, sculptures, performances, films, participatory works and events. It includes a number of new works made especially for the exhibition.

Tate Modern unveils the latest commission in The Unilever Series. Shibboleth, by Doris Salcedo, is the first work to intervene with the fabric of the building. The exhibition will be on view through Sunday, 6 April 2008.

This exhibition aims to chart the artistic and personal relationships of three of the great figures in early twentieth-century art, Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray and Francis Picabia. Together they created the Dada movement in New York during the First World War, and, unusually within the history of modern art, they remained friends, with periods of varying intensity, throughout their lives.

Juan Muñoz (1953 – 2001) is widely regarded as of one of the foremost contemporary sculpture and installation artists. Revealing his innovative and wide ranging artistic practice, Tate Modern presents the first major solo retrospective of Muñoz's work in the UK.

Tate is delighted to announce Doris Salcedo as the next artist invited to create the Unilever Series commission for the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern in 2007 (9 October 2007 - 24 March 2008).

Global Cities, a major free exhibition examining the recent changes in ten global cities: Cairo, Istanbul, Johannesburg, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Mumbai, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, and Tokyo, will be presented in a spectacular installation in the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern from20 June-27 August 2007. Organised by Tate in association with the la Biennale di Venezia, the exhibition is sponsored by Land Securities in association with Savills and Derwent London.
