Armenia Uses IT to Grow Tourism By 92%

Tourism was declared a priority in Armenia in 2001 when the country was celebrating the 1,700 anniversary of its proclaiming Christianity as state religion. In the following years the number of foreign visitors to Armenia grew by 92%. In January 2001 the US and Armenian governments set up an Armenian Tourism Development Agency (ATDA).

Armenia Encourages Internal Tourism To Fight Downturn

The Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan in a meeting with tourism industry leaders has presented a package of “Cheap vacation packages and deals to Nagorno Karabakh” to encourage internal tourism and help to cushion the economic downturn. The meeting was held with more than 20 representatives of tour providers aiming to enhance the tourist visits to Nagorno Karabakh Republic, promoting development of travel industry in the region.

This white color cross is seen in the town of Gyumri a week after Easter in northern Armenia.

For about half an hour starting at 12:14 AM local time, this white cross is seen in the skies over a house top. In the beginning it looks like a white object. Then it clearly becomes a cross like object, which is unexplained.
