Cecile Licad, who thrilled Tucson Symphony Orchestra performing Piano Concerto No. 2 by Camille Saint-Saens, will return to Tucson in the 2008/09 season. Ms. Licad will perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, one of the most popular and demanding piano concertos ever written, on a Classic Special program one night only, Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Tucson Music Hall. The Tucson Symphony Orchestra reaches a new milestone with the release of its first commercial recording. It will contain three works by French Canadian composer André Mathieu and will be released by the Canadian-based label, Analekta. The Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and bandleader from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson was scheduled to perform a TSO Pops! Special one-night-only concert on January 13 at the Tucson Music Hall. The TSO Pops! concert with Doc has now been rescheduled for April 14 at 7:30 pm at the Tucson Music Hall. All tickets purchased to date are valid for the rescheduled date of April 14th, 2007. Patrons should keep their tickets to use on the new date.
