The effectiveness of the social networking site Twitter as a breaking news information center is again being demonstrated following the shootings at Fort Hood, Texas. Due to the 140 character limit of each tweet, news can quickly be updated as more information becomes available.

New Internet marketing features keep rolling out, and in the last few days there have been announcements from Twitter, Google and Amazon each announcing a major new feature (Google’s is in beta).

A Meghan McCain Twitter, or rather, Twitpic post has drawn much criticism, as well as rather unkind remarks about the centrist Republican. The post shows McCain with the caption "my 'spontaneous' night in..." in a rather skimpy tank top. You can imagine what happened then.

It’s official – The Wall Street Journal has declared the death of email. According to a October 12th article by Jessica E. Vascellaro headlined “Why Email No Longer Rules ... and what that means for the way we communicate”:

Microsoft announced back in August that Twitter and Facebook would be coming to the Xbox 360 dashboard. Microsoft announced that the update will be released in mid November in the UK. A beta for the update will start at some point between the 15th and 31st October in the US. Thus will add functionality for both Twitter and Facebook to the dashboard. Perfect timing for commercials that would air just prior to Black Friday's holiday shopping madness.

Miley Cyrus cancelled her Twitter account this week. Apparently her new love interest, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, has something to do with it. Apparently he doesn't have a Twitter account so now she doesn't want one either. Celebrities like Miley Cyrus tend to appeal to only a certain crowd, so there can't be that many who are upset that Cyrus stopped using Twitter.
