UAE Dhabi starts constructing 'green city'

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has started construction of its so called 'green city' which will be named Masdar City. It is a city which is designed to have no carbon emissions, cars, or waste. It will cost $22 billion (£11 billion) and take eight years to make. It will be able to hold a population of 50,000 people and 1,500 businesses. The city will cover 1,483 acres (6.00 km²).

Kocharian Meets United Arab Emirate Counterpart

ABU DHABI, UAE (Armenpress)--Armenian President Robert Kocharian who is in the United Arab Emirates on a working visit met Wednesday with the president of UAE Sheikh Khalifa ben Zayid Al Nahyan. During the meeting the presidents pointed out the necessity of bolstering bilateral partnership by conducting high-level visits and by increasing trade-turnover.

UAE's Dana Gas Achieved Good Profit

Dana Gas, the UAE's first private sector regional natural gas company, has achieved operating profits for the first half year, with total revenues for the six months ended June 30, 2007 rising to Dh443 million from 171 days of gas production operations, resulting in gross operating cash profit of Dh226 million.
