When Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell camt out of last night's SEPTA transit strike negotiations saying they had come to a tentative agreement, he didn't realize how tentative it was. Transport Workers Union Local 234 has counter-offered, saying they will end their strike, which began as soon as the Phillies left town for the remainder of the world series, if SEPTA agrees to binding arbitration.

The Philadephia portion of the World Series is over, with the Yankees losing to the Phillies 8-6 in game 5, sending the series back to NY. With that, as quick as you can blink SEPTA is on strike.
