April Uranium Price Forecast: $110/Pound

Bids are due in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 3rd for the sealed-bid auction, conducted by Mestena Uranium LLC, for another modest lot of 100 thousand pounds of U3O8. "Buyers are once again expected to compete aggressively for the material," Nuclear Market Review (NMR) editor Treva Klingbiel wrote in the monthly edition of the nuclear industry trade magazine. "Any material offered at fixed price is highly sought after by potential buyers."

Mestena Uranium Auction Expects Eager Bidding

By the end of March, Mestena Uranium LLC is expected to offer another 100 thousand pound U3O8 for sale through a sealed-bid auction. Each spot uranium auction conducted by Mestena has resulted in strong price increases in the spot uranium market. "Bidding is expected to be aggressive," wrote Nuclear Market Review editor Treva Klingbiel in the March 16th issue.

New Mexico Politicians Want Uranium Mining Back

New Mexico state senator David Ulibarri's initiative, initially designed to increase public awareness of uranium mining and nuclear energy, has now taken on a larger dimension. After the New Mexico Senate Rules and Conservation Committees passed his SJM 10 bill, Senator Ulibarri decided he accomplished what he hoped for - to help launch a study of uranium mining safety.
