The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s blockbuster 2007/2008 season finale features one of the finest young musicians in the world. Cellist Daniel Muller-Schott will play the lavish Dvorak Cello Concerto – one of Muller-Schott’s personal favourites. Other highlights of the concert are Shostakovich's monumental Symphony No. 5, one of the most important symphonies ever written, and Delius’s enchanting Song of Summer.

The final Accenture Masterworks Gold series concert of the season features French-Canadian pianist Marc-Andre Hamelin and takes place on Saturday & Monday, May 31st & June 2nd at the Orpheum Theatre. Maestro Bramwell Tovey conducts.

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra proudly presents Dame Evelyn Glennie, the world's greatest percussionist, in The Power of Percussion on Saturday and Monday, May 24th and May 26th at the Orpheum Theatre. This concert features De Falla's Three-Cornered Hat, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2, and the world premiere of Christos Hatzis's Tongues of Fire for Percussion and Orchestra (which was written for Ms. Glennie and Beverley Johnston). Maestro Bramwell Tovey conducts.

Intrepid sleuth Inspector Tovey examines the art of composing on Sunday, May 18th, 2pm at the Orpheum Theatre. Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Music Director Bramwell Tovey reprises his role of "Inspector Tovey" in the final concert in the 2007/2008 Spectra Energy Kids' Koncerts series. The Inspector has already investigated the hidden treasures of an orchestra, the nature of rhythm and the importance of harmony in past seasons.

The final Pacific Arbour Tea & Trumpets concert of the season features the concert version of composer Johann Strauss Jr.'s most popular piece Die Fledermaus. Conducted by Maestro Bramwell Tovey, narrated by Christopher Gaze, and featuring the UBC Opera Ensemble, this 2pm matinee performance takes place on Thursday, May 15th at the Orpheum Theatre.

The VSO presents the last London Drugs Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Pops concert of the season – Cool Britannia, featuring a sampling of the vast and varied repertoire made famous in concert halls and on movie screens worldwide.

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is proud to present two of Canada's finest talents, Yannick Nézet-Séguin & Katherine Chi on April 18th and 19th at the Chan Centre for Performing Arts. The pair, along with the VSO, will be performing the music of masters, Bach & Haydn.

The Mambo Kings have earned a reputation as one of North America’s leading Latin jazz ensembles for their sizzling blend of Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz improvisation. On April 11th and 12th, at 8pm, they’ll heat up the Orpheum along with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in the London Drugs VSO Pops series, led by Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik.

On Friday, April 4th, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra will present the artistic highlight of the Arts season in Vancouver, a concert anticipated like no other: one of history's finest violin virtuosos, Anne-Sophie Mutter. Ms. Mutter returns to Vancouver for the first time since April of 1989. After the nineteen year absence, this extraordinary artist returns to the Orpheum stage to dazzle audiences with her signature piece, Beethoven's Violin Concerto.
