Yesterday, November 4th, 2008, we saw history made in America. Barack Obama became the first black president of the United States. He accepted the results just before midnight in Chicago, after waiting for John McCain to make his concession speech.

Pennsylvania has been a highly desired prize, with John McCain making a last-ditch effort over the last few weeks to win the state, but it appears to have been to no avail. The projection from NBC News is that Barack Obama has taken the state, which both parties had targeted as critical to winning the race.
