The Walker Art Center, Northrop Dance Season, and the University of Minnesota Dance Program honor the work of Trisha Brown (b.1936), one of the founding innovators of postmodern dance, with an exhibition of her drawings and performance pieces; presentations of several early site-specific performance works; and an evening of dance.

During March, the Walker Art Center presents Women with Vision 2008: Past/Present, the 15th installment of this renowned film festival that annually celebrates the work of women directors, filmmakers, and artists. Sheryl Mousley, the Walker's film/video curator, often finds thematic threads connecting the films she selects.

A reemergence of Latin American films on the international scene in recent years has resulted in a wealth of vivid, groundbreaking work. The Walker Art Center's Cinemateca film series continues its run of screenings on the last Friday of each month with a recent film from Cuba, Camila Guzmán Urzúa's The Sugar Curtain (El Telón de Azúcar), on Friday, February 29, 7:30 pm.

The Walker Art Center series Drawn Here: Contemporary Design in Conversation continues in February and March with two architects featured in the exhibition Worlds Away: New Suburban Landscapes, premiering February 16–August 17.

Hey Girl! comes to the Walker Art Center's William and Nadine McGuire stage Thursday-Saturday, February 14–16, at 8 pm, and Sunday, February 17, at 7 pm. After directing the Theatre Arts Division of the 2005 Venice Biennale, Castellucci stands among Europe's most important performance artists and theater practitioners. His work has only rarely appeared in the United States.

Worlds Away: New Suburban Landscapes, the first major museum exhibition to examine both the art and architecture of the contemporary American suburb and its catalytic role in the creation of new art, premieres at the Walker Art Center from February 16–August 17.

Through February 24, the Walker Art Center presents the series Expanding the Frame, a six-week showcase of established and emerging directors who are breaking the boundaries of film and video.
