In this week's special Wii Shop Channel update, we bring you not only a new WiiWare release but also more classic games, never released in PAL regions before, in our Virtual Console 'Hanabi Festival'.

Get ready to rip through a barricade of blocks and reel in some prize catches as two new titles come to WiiWare.

This week the popular Nintendo DS puzzle game Actionloop Twist launches on WiiWare! Pick your favourite Mii and take control of the Gemstone Launch Pad by twisting the Wii Remote back and forth.

From today Wii owners can download the latest channel to be introduced to the console. Available through the Wii Shop Channel for free, the Nintendo Channel will keep users up-to-date on all Wii, Nintendo DS, WiiWare and Virtual Console titles from Nintendo and third party developers.

From 20th May onwards, a whole host of brand-new, creative games from developers across Europe and the rest of the globe become available through Nintendo’s new download service: WiiWare.

The opportunity to create the next groundbreaking video game for Wii has well and truly arrived for developers as WiiWare hits Europe, launching on 20 May 2008. Developers, no matter how big or small, will be able to create exciting new downloadable games to be sold through the Wii Shop Channel. Changing the way developers create Wii games and players access them, WiiWare will make it possible for smaller, creative titles to take centre stage.
