FINA, world swimming's governing body, has banned a Ukrainian coach for six years. Mikhaylo Zubkov had been filmed pushing and shoving his 18-year-old swimmer daughter in a waiting at area at the world championships currently under way in Melbourne, Australia.

Michael Phelps and his U.S. teammates broke the world record in the men's 800-meter freestyle relay at the world swimming championships Friday. Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Klete Keller and Peter Vanderkaay touched first in 7 minutes, 03.24 seconds, lowering the time of 7:04.66 set by Australia at the 2001 world championships in Fukuoka, Japan.
