KU wins the national championship game! After defeating Memphis 75-68 in overtime, the Jayhawks clinch the fifth national championship in school history and the first since 1988. Tuesday classes are canceled in honor of KU's victory. Classes canceled in honor of KU victory; welcome-home event set for Tuesday.

The Kansas Jayhawks won the 2008 NCAA Championship beating out Memphis 75-68. I was actually rooting for Kansas, but it would have been something if either team had won. Kansas almost lost it during regulation, but managed to tie it up at the end, which led to overtime and them winning.

Mario Chalmers led Kansas (KU Basketball team) with 18 points and made two key defensive plays in the final minutes to lift the third-ranked Jayhawks to a 76-70 win at Missouri in Big 12 basketball action here Saturday night.

Robert Horton, a 2003 School of Fine Arts graduate with a DMA in organ performance, recently won 1st place in the 5th annual Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition in Kaliningrad, Russia, on September 7.
