While previously told they would not be getting the traditional turkey dinner on Thanksgiving because of the impending shuttle landing tomorrow, shuttle astronauts were surprised on Thursday. They found that they had turkey dinners waiting for them after all.

Russian cosmonaut Konstantin Feoktistov, who was the recipient of two firsts as a cosmonaut, has died. He was 83. The Russian Space Agency said in a statement Sunday that Feoktistov died of unspecified causes late Saturday in Moscow.

Shuttle Atlantis Blasts Off With Full Load of Supplies

NASA executed a flawless space shuttle launch today, as the shuttle Atlantis blasted off for the International Space Station. Atlantis was fully loaded with supplies for the ISS, as the ISS stocks up with only five more shuttle flights on the schedule.

Scientists hoped the LCross mission on October 9, 2009 would help them verify that there is water on the moon. The LCROSS Centaur and Spacecraft impacted the moon at approximately 7:30 a.m on October 9 and today NASA reported that they have confirmed that water exists on the moon.

Lovelorn Astronaut Lisa Nowak Pleads Guilty

Lisa Nowak, the so-called lovelorn astronaut who drove cross-country in an attempt to attack her rival pleaded guilty Tuesday to burglary and battery. She received a light sentence, however; only a year's worth of probation and no additional jail time. Nowak had originally been charged with a second felony: attempted kidnapping.

China's Space Program Father, Qian Xuesen, Dies at 98

For the first time in a generation, NASA has a new rocket waiting for launch time. Weather is now the only thing holding back the launch of the Ares I-X rocket. NASA's first flight test of its Ares I-X booster rocket is only slated to last two minutes. Cloudy skies are holding up the test launch of NASA's newest rocket. NASA has until noon to get the experimental Ares I-X flight going.
