South Carolina governor Mark Sanford, who earlier turned a hiking trip to the Appalachians into a trip to visit his mistress in Argentina, is now officially under ethics investigation. He has been charged with 37 ethics violations, just before tomorrow's hearing to determine if the state legislature wants to pursue impeachment proceedings.

Early Friday morning a student at Carolina Forest High School in Myrtle Beach, SC was fatally shoot to death by the school's resource officer. From apparent reports the officer shot the student after he was attacked by the student.

It appears that South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has another round of questions to answers after a summer he would like to forget. This time Sanford is now being scrutinized for not reporting flights on personal planes as required by state law. An AP investigation has discovered some 35 flights since the Sanford took office back in 2003 that should have reported.

The newspaper that first uncovered the evidence, The State, later released a series of emails between the two that showed how the deep the emotions ran.
