The chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat says the Palestinian nation may have to abandon its dream of having an independent state if Israel continues the Jewish Settlement plan and if the United States does not do anything to stop Israel. To this date Israel keeps up the Palestinian evictions from East Jerusalem claiming properties and settling Israelis house by house.

It was highly anticipated. We were told that the Prime Minister of Israel was going to finally call for a Palestinian state and accept the road map to peace. But Netanyahu's speech was full of the same bluster, bias, and one-sided politics that have kept this destructive conflict going for more than 4o years. Netanyahu's speech was sadly disappointing, though very predictable.

The Standard operating procedure regarding United States foreign policy toward Israel has been to let Israel do whatever it likes and never criticize it. Israel would continue to build settlements, starve, segregate and brutalize Palestinians, and the United States would simply ignore all this and talk about how wonderful Israel was. President Obama is now sending signals that those days may be over.
