Facebook and JP Morgan Chase will be spreading some holiday cheer this year with a joint effort to bring $5 Mil to charities that Facebook users will have the chance to choose. Facebook will now allow its users to donate to any one of over 500,000 local charities of their choosing in a program called Chase Community Giving.

In response to the complaints, Facebook security chief Max Kelly reminded Facebookers on Oct. 26 that they can have their dead friends' profiles memorialized.

Microsoft announced back in August that Twitter and Facebook would be coming to the Xbox 360 dashboard. Microsoft announced that the update will be released in mid November in the UK. A beta for the update will start at some point between the 15th and 31st October in the US. Thus will add functionality for both Twitter and Facebook to the dashboard. Perfect timing for commercials that would air just prior to Black Friday's holiday shopping madness.

Phoenix Media/Communications is suing the social networking site Facebook. Phoenix, which owns The Boston Phoenix and other local alternative weeklies and websites, filed the lawsuit in US Disrict Court in Boston on Wednesday stating that Facebook has allegedly violated a patent related to setting up online personal profile pages.
