Toyota Recall: 110,000 Toyota Tundra Pick Up Trucks

Toyota has announced the recall of 110,000 of its Toyota Tundra pick up trucks in the United States. Concerns over corrosion on the vehicle's frame prompted Toyota to issue a statement warning owners in cold areas that road salt could corrode parts of the frame, causing the spare wheel to come loose and damage to brake lines.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) just released its 2010 Top Safety picks and Toyota fails to make the grade. Not a single model from the world’s largest auto manufacturer,as determined by sales, or its subsidiaries, made the list. In 2009, Toyota, Lexus and Scion had 11 winners, but failed to come up with one in 2010.

Toyota's Prius Faces Patent Challenge

Toyota, already having a recent spate of bad news over a massive 3.8 million vehicle recall (over floor mats, no less), is facing more trouble. It's possible, though admittedly unlikely, that Toyota could find its Prius, the most popular hybrid car made, banned, along with other Toyota hybrids.
