Lowes Racing Marks Coca Cola 600 Anniversary

Lowes racing is one of my favorite races of the year. It is the longest race distance wise and it comes on the heels of the Indy 500 in the afternoon. A couple years ago drivers such as Tony Stewart and Robby Gordon used to attempt to race both the Indy 500 in the afternoon and then fly to Charlotte to race the Coca Cola 600. A total of 1100 miles in the day. For me this race kicks off summer. It's Memorial Day weekend and it's time to go racing.

Helio Castroneves Posts Third Indy 500 Win

Just 5 1/2 weeks ago, Helio Castroneves was wondering if he would make it out of his tax evasion trial with an innocent plea. Forget about that, now, as he became the ninth driver to win the historic Indianapolis 500 race three times today. Castroneves is today's Indy 500 winner.

Marco Andretti, Mario Moraes Out Of Indy 500

Marco Andretti and Mario Moraes became to two first outers of the Indy 500's first lap.

According to AP the Indy 500 had barely started when Mario Moraes drifted to the outside and made contact with Marco Andretti, sending both cars into the wall going into the second turn.

The Sprint Cup race follows the Fox presentation of the Craftsman Truck Series on Saturday, as no Nationwide event is scheduled for this weekend.
