San Diego Chorus Takes A Hip Trip Down Memory Lane

The Gay Men's Chorus of San Diego will kick off its 16th Anniversary Season of Singing Out with its spring concert, "Heart and Soul – Music of the 50s." This hip and hilarious trip down memory lane will be presented on Saturday, April 12, at 8:00 pm and then again on Sunday, April 13, at 2:00 pm. Both performances will take place inside the beautiful David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre, located within the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center at 4126 Executive Drive in La Jolla.

Heartland Men's Chorus welcomes their brothers from Wichita, the Heart of America Men's Chorus, to the Folly Theater stage for "Exile: The Journey Home," March 29-30, 2008. Chorus pro Musica, led by Guest Conductor David Hodgkins, will present a special concert celebrating New England composers on March 7, at 8 pm, at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 138 Tremont Street, Boston (opposite the Park St MBTA station). The performance includes a special tribute to Daniel Pinkham, who at his death in December 2006 left a substantial legacy of great works, many commissioned or premiered by Chorus pro Musica.

The 150-voice Boston Gay Men’s Chorus will celebrate the season with a heartwarming and entertaining tour of holiday music from across the globe with three concerts titled “Peace On Earth – Holidays Around the World.” Under the direction of Reuben Reynolds, the performances will be held on Friday, December 7 at 8 pm, Saturday, December 8 at 3 pm and again on Saturday, December 8 at 8 pm. The Gay Men’s Chorus of San Diego will wrap up its successful 15th Anniversary Season of Singing Out with its annual holiday concerts. “Bells & Brass,” which features the 75-member Chorus accompanied by brass ensemble and handbell choir, will be presented on Saturday, December 15, at 8 pm and again on Sunday, December 16, at 2 pm.

Now in its third year, the program allows the Chorus to add the excitement of live orchestral music to its Holiday Treasures concerts at 8 p.m. Dec. 19 and 20 at the Amaturo Theater, Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
